About Jesse Jensen

The son of a pastor and stay at home mom, Jesse grew up in rural America where the value of family, community and hard work were instilled in him from an early age.  While attending public high school in South Dakota, Jesse was selected to go to the Nation’s Capital as a delegate to the American Legions’ Boys Nation.  While in D.C., he met President George W. Bush and his elected members of Congress and Senate. The experience and connections he made was pivotal in his young life, paving the way to a career in public service.

Through hard work and determination, and with his goals set on Washington, D.C., Jesse was accepted to George Washington University majoring in Political Science, concentrating in Public Policy. Throughout his college career and post-graduation, he worked for Senator, John Thune (R-SD).

In 2007, while accompanying Senator Thune to Walter Reed Medical Center, Jesse met a young soldier who lost both his legs to an IED blast while deployed in Iraq. Inspired by the soldier’s sole desire to return to his team, Jesse longed to do more to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army. His determination, work ethic and strong leadership traits quickly propelled him to the rank of infantry officer and he earned his tab from the prestigious Army Ranger School. During his time in the military, Jesse was deployed on four combat tours, three of which were in the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) as an Army Ranger, and was awarded several commendations including two Bronze Stars for Service.

After a distinguished military career, Jesse attended graduate school, earning his Masters in business from Columbia University in New York City. Post-graduation, Jesse and his wife Mindy moved home to Washington State where they now reside in Bonney Lake with their three children, Hunter, Savannah, and Harper.  Jesse’s private sector experience has included a Director-level role in healthcare and Program Management positions at Microsoft and Amazon. His well-rounded experience offers him a unique perspective in his approach to bringing common-sense business practices to Washington, DC.
