Misleads voters about "No Corporate PAC Pledge"

  • see below

EVIDENCE:

Attached is a Kim Schrier campaign mailer with a “No Corporate PAC Pledge” emblazoned on it and claims on her website (link here) that “I have pledged to reject corporate PAC money.”. She has in fact accepted money from the below lists of PAC’s, many of them are Corporate PAC’s.

  • Corporate PAC: October 2018, Schrier accepted a $5,000 contribution from the American Crystal Sugar Company PAC. (Federal Election Commission, 10/31/18)

  • In June 2019, Schrier accepted a $1,000 contribution from the Investment Company Institute PAC, which is funded by member banks including Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and more. (Federal Election Commission, 6/27/19; ICI, Accessed 9/23/19)

  • And Schrier accepted $54,835.71 from Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, Jim Clyburn, and Cheri Bustos’ PACs, which take corporate money from groups such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Google, Walmart, General Electric, and complete list of Corporate PAC’s listed below. (Roll Call, 4/29/19)

Flip-flops on Medicare for All:

  • see screenshot of website from early September  - the medicare  for all statement is now gone.

EVIDENCE:

Congresswoman Schrier changes her website. Representative Schrier has on numerous occasions expressed her support for Medicare for All, including but not limited to the following:

Until October 5th, Representative Schrier’s own campaign website still announced her support for Medicare for All. Our campaign took this screen shot on 10/5 (see below). Sometime in mid October she had changed her website (link here) stating that “I am committed to building on the ACA, and taking the next step to introduce a public option…”. We think the voters should be made aware of this either deception or massive flip flop, especially given the fact that she is misleading voters on her No Corporate PAC pledge as evidenced above.
